We often hear customers say that they are afraid that if they reject an applicant, the file will be deleted and their application will no longer be available to review. Don't worry, this isn't correct! Clicking on the "Reject" button is an important component of using the ATS. Not only does this help create accurate reports, but it makes the system easier to navigate by clearing out unfit applicants you don’t want to hire.
When processing applicants, customers often use flags to highlight applicants that they want to reject and later use bulk rejections from the job's Applicant Queue following these steps:
- From the Applicant Queue check the box(es) next to the candidates that you'd like to reject.
- Click "Take Action."
- Select "Reject Applicant(s)" from the drop-down and follow the system prompts until complete.
Once all bulk rejection prompts are followed, the selected applicants will be moved from the Active Applicant list to All Applicants. The "Active Applicants" are those who haven't had the hiring process finalized by either Hiring or Rejecting. The "All Applicants" list will show those in all Stages of the hiring process, including applicants who have been hired or rejected. To filter the Applicant Queue, click the Active Applicants drop-down to sort by Stage.
Note: If an Applicant File is mistakenly rejected, the action can be reversed by Undo Rejection.
